Peter S. Buas, Esq.

Peter S. Buas brings a wealth of legal knowledge and local insight to his practice, offering clients trusted guidance across a range of real estate and estate-related legal matters. A native of Ocean City, Maryland, Peter is deeply committed to serving the needs of his community, both in and out of the courtroom.

Peter graduated from Worcester Preparatory School in Berlin in 2009, the University of Maryland, College Park in 2013, and the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2016. After being admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2016, he served a two-year clerkship with the Circuit Court for Worcester County. There, he worked closely with several respected judges, gaining valuable experience in litigation, administrative law, and courtroom procedure.

In 2018, Peter joined the law firm of Williams, Moore, Shockley & Harrison, LLP, where he was elected as a partner in 2023. In 2026, the firm of Williams, Moore, Shockley & Harrison, LLP separated, with Peter and Raymond C Shockley established Coastal Law Office, LLC, allowing him to provide more personalized, attorney-led title and settlement services along with his regular practice of estate planning, probate, and business related matters to clients throughout Worcester County and Ocean City, MD.

Peter also served on the Ocean City Council from 2020 to 2024, where he was the top vote-receiver in the 2020 municipal election and chaired several key bodies, including the Police Commission, the Coastal Resources Legislative Committee, and the Risk Retention Committee.
In addition, he also serves in several community roles, including as a Board Member of Diakonia, Inc., and as both Board Member and Board Attorney for the Henry Hotel Foundation and the Ocean City Museum Society, Inc.

Raymond C. Shockley, Esq.

Raymond C. Shockley is a respected attorney with decades of experience serving Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Born in Berlin, Maryland, on November 23, 1936, he was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1970 after earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Before beginning his legal career, Mr. Shockley served 13 years as a Trooper with the Maryland State Police. He later served as Assistant State’s Attorney for Worcester County (1972–1973) and as Attorney for the Worcester County Board of License Commissioners from 1971 to 1980.

Mr. Shockley has been active in both the legal and local business communities. He served as President of the Worcester County Bar Association in 1974 and was a member of the First Judicial Circuit Selection Committee (2007–2014). He has also served with the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission and the Attorney Inquiry Board.

In addition, Mr. Shockley has held leadership roles with several regional organizations, including Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Eastern Shore Division of BB&T, Chairman of the Board of Atlantic Bank of Ocean City, and a Director of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and Coastal Hospice.

His practice focuses on real estate, corporate law, and probate matters, where he continues to provide trusted legal counsel to individuals and businesses throughout the region.
